What we collect and why

• Quote requests. The quote form asks for your name, company, phone number, email address, the work you need and the details of the job. The form does not send anything from this website: it opens your own email app with a message addressed to us, and nothing reaches us until you press send there. The website does not store what you type.
• Calls and emails. Your phone number or email address, and whatever you tell us about the job.
• How visitors use the site. We use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use this website (where people click and scroll, and anonymised recordings of visits) so we can make it easier to use. Clarity sets cookies and hides sensitive details typed into forms. Microsoft processes this data under its privacy statement. We also use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read and how visitors found the site. It does not receive your name or anything you type into the quote form. Google processes this data under its privacy policy.

We use your details to reply to you, prepare a quote and, if you hire us, plan and do the work and keep a record of it. Giving us your details is voluntary, but without a phone number or email address we cannot get back to you.

We do not sell personal information, we do not pass it to anyone for their marketing, and we will not send you marketing you did not ask for.

Who else receives it

• Yahoo provides our email, so emailed enquiries are held in our Yahoo Mail account.
• Hostinger hosts this website. Like any web host, its servers see the requests your browser makes for each page.
• Microsoft runs Clarity, as described above.
• Google runs Google Analytics, as described above, and supplies the fonts this website uses, so Google receives your device's internet (IP) address and browser details when a page opens. The map link on our home page opens Google Maps only if you click it.

Yahoo, Microsoft and Google may store this information outside South Africa, for example in the United States, under their own privacy terms.

Cookies and how to block them

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. This website sets none of its own. Microsoft Clarity sets _clck (up to a year) and _clsk (one day) to join the pages of a visit together, and Microsoft may set cookies of its own. Google Analytics sets cookies whose names start with _ga (up to two years) to recognise a browser that has visited before. To block or delete cookies, use your browser's settings or browse in a private window. Everything on this website still works with cookies blocked.

How long we keep information

• Enquiries and records of work: we keep enquiries and related records for as long as we need them to respond, to do the work, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
• Clarity data: kept by Microsoft for the period its privacy statement sets out.
• Google Analytics data: visit records are kept for 14 months, then deleted.

Your rights under POPIA

You can ask us:

• whether we hold personal information about you, and what it is;
• to correct or delete it;
• to stop using it, by objecting; and
• to stop using it where you gave consent and now withdraw it.

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
